Scouting Dossier

PFF
Dennis-Sutton projects best as a 3-4 defensive end with some 4-3 flexibility. His length and size are clear strengths, though his agility in space is more limited. With ascending play, he could be drafted higher than his current tape suggests.
Strengths
● Imposing frame with long, muscular arms and proportional bulk ● Solid linear athlete who can gain ground with long strides ● Strong at point of attack, using physical hands to hold his ground vs. single/double blocks ● Uses length to jolt chests of blockers and work around outside shoulders ● Consistent competitor who gets jolts of energy and cranks intensity to 11 ● Knows how to attack throwing arm and ball cradle (multiple forced fumbles each of past three years) ● Starter on punt returns in 2025 and blocked three punts (tied single-season school record) ● Passed Matt Millen and Abdul Carter, among others, to finish No. 6 on school’s all-time sacks leaderboard (23.5 sacks) ● Scouts say he has “self-inflated” view of himself at times but it comes from a good place, because he sets a high bar for himself ● When asked why he played in 2025 bowl game, he responded: “I love football. … I don’t understand not playing.”
Weaknesses
● Upright, straight-line rusher and can be ridden upfield ● Mediocre explosiveness, which shows off the line and when shedding blocks ● Lackluster dip and some stiffness turning corner ● Inconsistent snap anticipation (four offside penalties in 2025) ● Spin move lacks burst or deception ● Too easily caught up in the wash as a run defender ● Tight in space when attempting to redirect and chase the football ● What he offers in reverse is limited
Projection
A two-year starter at Penn State, Dennis-Sutton was an outside edge rusher (three-point stance) in former defensive coordinator Jim Knowles’ scheme. He posted nearly identical production each of the past two seasons and led the Big Ten in pressures per game (3.8) in 2025. He also added special teams duties as a senior and accounted for three blocked punts. Dennis-Sutton wins with a combination of quickness and power in all facets of his game. He isn’t very deceptive as a pass rusher, but his hands are active and aggressive, which allows him to mix up his attack with varying swims, stabs, rips and chops. Though he offers a solid anchor in the run game and rarely gives in, he lacks explosive twitch getting off blocks or redirecting in chase mode. Overall, Dennis-Sutton will find sack production harder to come by against NFL blocking, but he is a commanding presence and has the size, strength and quickness to be a force player on the edge. He will be more appealing to teams looking for a “high-floor” role player, as opposed to a “high-ceiling” pass rusher. 351 Back to table of contents -- 355 of 629 --
