- Senior Bowl 2026www.cbssports.comAdd in his pass catching, and I'm very excited to see the full week of work for the RB. pic.twitter.com/xJCccAOjr9 Draft projection: Round 3 The Senior Bowl featured several talented receivers, including Josh Cameron, Tyren Montgomery and Ted Hurst, but Fields looked like the most complete of the bunch.
- Senior Bowl 2026www.espn.comThe 6-foot-4, 325-pound Hunter currently ranks No. 29 on my board and boosted his stock even more on Tuesday. -- Miller Ted Hurst, WR, Georgia State Given that he played at a small school, this week provides a unique opportunity for Hurst.
- Senior Bowl 2026www.nfl.comWhile he didn't make highlight-reel catches on Tuesday (his American Team teammate Ted Hurst took care of that; more on him later), Fields did show off his ability to stack corners on vertical routes and body them out of contention on short/intermediate catches. The highlight of Tuesday might have been a one-handed catch from Georgia State WR Ted Hurst.

Scouting Dossier
PFF
Hurst is a long, lean outside X receiver who brings a solid baseline of blocking and contested-catch ability to the role. He has pro-level vertical speed, but it takes some time to build up. He projects as a Day 3 receiver with the chance to be a contributing player.
Strengths
● Tall, long frame with lean muscle definition and room to add more bulk
● Has the speed to stride out and create vertical push
● Taps into another gear once he gains a step on coverage or pursuit
● Quiet, efficient footwork at the top of routes to snap or work back to the ball
● Moves with fluid twitch in his routes and as a ball carrier to squirm out of tackle attempts
● Tracks deep ball well and uses late hands to reach back and pull in throws
● High-pointing skills to expand catch radius and play above the rim (naturally left-handed)
● 70.9 percent of his catches resulted in either a first down or touchdown
● Still young (on the field and off), but NFL scouts say he developed more of a pro mindset as an upperclassman
● Above-average receiving production, despite inconsistency around him
Weaknesses
● Quick in release movements but needs more polish to escape press
● Mediocre play strength shows when trying to gain body position versus physical corners
● Makes impressive grabs but hands let him down at times (more drops than TDs in 2025)
● Wasn’t required to run the most expansive route tree (13.7 percent of his routes were slants, No. 1 in the FBS in 2025)
● Route timing and pacing are still works in progress
● Capable in screen game but won’t have same success rate making NFL athletes miss
● Doesn’t offer much on special teams coverages
Projection
A two-year starter at Georgia State (and a starter for three-and-a-half-years overall), Hurst was the outside X wide receiver in offensive
coordinator Hue Jackson’s scheme. After two seasons in Division II, he immediately proved to be productive upon moving up to the
FBS, despite playing for a struggling Georgia State program that combined for just four wins in his two seasons (3-9 in 2024, 1-11 in
‘25). Hurst combined for 127 catches, 1,965 yards and 15 touchdowns over his junior and senior seasons.
The first player in school history to make Bruce Feldman’s “Freaks List,” Hurst is explosive on a vertical plane and sustains his speed to
keep coverage from making up ground — his 34 catches of 20-plus yards over the past two seasons ranked No. 1 in the FBS. He has

impressive sink and balance for a high-cut route runner, although his route cadence and versatility are still developing. He needs to cut
down on the drops but extends his long arms to create catching windows (high success rate on fades). Overall, Hurst faces a steep
learning curve versus NFL press and coverage traffic, but his physical traits and ball-tracking skills — especially as a
downfield target — are exciting. He is a developmental X/Z receiver with down-the-road starting upside.

Freak Notes
- Feldman-Freaks-2025 · #83The 6-3, 198-pound Hurst, who spent two seasons at Valdosta State, had a big debut season in the Sun Belt, making 56 receptions for 961 yards and a Georgia State single-season record nine touchdowns. He had two TDs, including the game-winner with 15 seconds left, in Georgia State’s upset against Vanderbilt. Hurst clocked a laser-timed 4.51 40 this offseason and also broad jumped 10-8. His three-cone time was 6.93. Head coach Dell McGee has another Freaky transfer on his roster in former South Carolina RB DJay Braswell, who, at 5-11, 215, ran a laser-timed 4.38 40 with a 1.47-second 10-yard split.
