Banks was strong in one-on-one drills, flashing nice power in wins against his college teammate, Jake Slaughter, and Arkansas' Fernando Carmona Jr.

Scouting Dossier

PFF
Slaughter is a smart, finesse center who thrives in zone schemes. He is quick off the ball, coordinated in space and effective at the second level. While his athleticism helps offset below-average size and length, he can struggle against NFL-caliber power in one-on-one situations.
Strengths
● Densely built, with adequate length and thick thighs/calves ● Plays with square power and consistently finishes blocks ● Establishes early leverage and stays active after initial contact to reset his anchor ● Keeps his hands inside and shuffles his feet to seal inside run lanes ● Sound footwork in snap-to-set movements ● Processes moving fronts and quickly adjusts to simulated pressures ● Enough range to be a pull-and-pop blocker on the move ● Accountable — loves behind-the-scenes work ● Mature demeanor and two-year team captain (NFL scout: “His presence changes the temp in the room. … He’s a 43-year-old in a 23-year-old body.”) ● Durable — started 28 straight games to finish his career
Weaknesses
● Average athletic traits and better in a phone booth ● Caught off balance when asked to mirror rushers in any type of space ● Leans on blocks instead of recoiling his punch ● Can get rocked back when he meets long-armed full extension ● Penalized nine times over final 21 college games (four false starts, three holds, two ineligible downfield) ● Didn’t play a snap at guard or tackle in five-year college career (struggled at guard during Senior Bowl practices)
Projection
A three-year starter at Florida, Slaughter lined up at center (right-handed snapper) in former offensive coordinator Russ Callaway’s balanced scheme. He was the heart and brain of the Florida offensive line and earned All-America nods as both a junior and senior. Slaughter was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy in 2025 and recognized as the top center in the SEC. A determined “do-your-job” type, Slaughter has a passion for football — and it shows in his on-field execution. He drives his feet in the run game to wall off lanes and keep defenders busy. In pass protection, he struggles to sink and adjust in space but has functional lateral movements and strains to finish base blocks. His ability to reset and stay attached combats longer, more powerful opponents. Overall, Slaughter doesn’t have overwhelming traits, but he consistently does his job using controlled movements, stout strength and veteran processing skills. With his makeup, he should compete for starting center snaps as a rookie.
