- East-West Shrine 2026atozsports.comIt's a bit of a referendum on the state of the class that three centers at Shrine Bowl were players moved away from other positions (Parker, Febechi Nwaiwu, and Garret DiGiorgio).

Scouting Dossier
PFF
Strengths
● Good-sized frame, with thickness through his hips/thighs
● Developed play strength and violent temperament (NFL scout: “Strongest dude in that program.”)
● Jolts at point of attack to displace defenders against their will
● Understands how to maximize length to keep defenders off his body
● Can sit down vs. power and absorb force
● Eyes in the right place — always searching for his next victim
● Flagged just once in 2025 (false start vs. Texas)
● “First in, last out” mentality — work ethic won’t be the culprit if he doesn’t make it
● Doesn’t have bad days; brings energy and a smile to the facility (NFL scout: “Elite human … leader of the O-line room.”)
● Logged starts at four of five offensive line positions during his college career
Weaknesses
● Slow-twitch mover with below-average lateral agility
● Average momentum into drive blocks
● Clunky and rigid change of direction
● Lackluster range when asked to get out in space or pick off linebackers
● Gets caught overextending in pass pro, with his vision at the ground
● Hand placement tends to wander in attempts to refit, especially vs. two-gappers
Projection
A two-year starter at Oklahoma (and four-year starter overall), Nwaiwu started primarily at right guard in 2025 before moving to center
for the final two games in offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle’s scheme. A former walk-on at North Texas, he transferred to Norman in
2024 and saw snaps across all three interior offensive line positions. He turned himself into a draftable NFL prospect as a senior,
earning All-SEC honors and being named a finalist for the Burlsworth Trophy (nation’s top walk-on).
Nwaiwu is long, strong and protects the integrity of the pocket in pass protection. As a run blocker, he is at his best on counter and
inside zone, when he can batter and unload on defenders. However, his run-blocking range is average at best, and he finds himself off
balance in the sustain phase. His character is among the best this draft class has to offer. Overall, Nwaiwu is a heavy-footed
athlete with questionable recovery skills, but he is strong as a bull and has the awareness and snap-to-snap
consistency that matter to NFL coaches. He projects as a valuable backup with guard-center flexibility.
