Projection
Landon Robinson grew up outside of Akron, Ohio, with his parents (Lance and Patrice). His father was a college gymnast at Kent State and passed his love of training on to his son. Landon was a multisport athlete all his life, including at Copley High School, where he lettered in baseball, football, track and wrestling (twice qualified for districts). He was an all-state linebacker as a senior with 116 tackles, four sacks and two interceptions (over just 10 games). A two-star recruit, he had mostly FCS offers and originally committed to Lehigh. However, a few FBS programs showed late interest, and he received an offer from Navy just before signing day. He enrolled as a 240-pound linebacker but bulked up to 280 and moved to the defensive line. Robinson, a three-time “Freaks List” honoree (665-pound squat, 465-pound bench press, 350-pound power clean), is highly attuned to his body and makes his “undersized” features work for him. He stays underneath blocks to establish immediate leverage while rooting his lower half to maintain balance and get off contact. He has active, sudden hands, although it will be tough to mask his lack of length versus NFL size. He looks like a former linebacker with his pursuit skills. He was voted a senior captain, largely because of the example he set in the program with his work ethic and toughness. Overall, Robinson will be viewed as a classic tweener for most schemes, but his quickness and energy lead directly to production. Whether he is drafted or signs as an undrafted free agent, look for him to make it extremely hard for an NFL team to cut him in camp.

Freak Notes

  • Feldman-Freaks-2025 · #13
A three-time Freaks List guy, the 6-foot Robinson, who arrived at the Academy at 240 pounds, is up to 286. He’s a stud. Robinson made First-Team All-AAC in 2024 after posting 61 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, seven QB hurries and two forced fumbles. His best game came on the biggest stage when he led Navy to a huge win against arch-rival No. 19 Army, making a career-high 13 tackles that included a forced fumble. He also took a fake punt 29 yards on a fourth-and-5 in the fourth quarter. In his career, he’s had three rushing attempts for a total of 87 yards — a cool 29-yard per carry average with the runs of 24, 34 and 29 yards. This offseason, he bench pressed 465 pounds (up from 450), squatted 665 (up 15 pounds) and power cleaned 350. He vertical jumps 33 inches and hit 20.13 mph on the GPS.
