Extracted from Brugler background/weakness sections.
character
- McGowan found a role as a true freshman (after Rhamondre Stevenson was suspended) in 2020, but he was arrested the following offseason and charged with robbery, conspiracy and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; he later pleaded guilty to larceny and was sentenced to probation.
- Oklahoma dismissed him from its program after his arrest, and he entered the transfer portal.
- He had a close relationship with his older brother (Sean), who tragically died of suicide in 2024 — representing his brother on and off the field became Seth McGowan’s motivation.
injury
- 2025) ● Character background is vital — arrested in April 2021 on multiple charges, dismissed from Oklahoma’s program and later pleaded guilty to larceny of a person at nighttime; sentenced to one year of probation after spending three months in jail.

Scouting Dossier
PFF
Strengths
● Well-built back, with good bone density and muscle definition
● Runs with bounce in his feet to cut laterally and find open lanes
● Decent speed but didn’t always get a chance to show it
● Presses the line with clear vision and minimal wasted steps
● Adequate patience; changes gears quickly when holes open up
● Can drop his pads and get skinny in short-yardage situations
● Excellent proximity awareness to use his blocks and leverage pursuit in open field
● Has frame, effort and toughness to handle pass-pro responsibilities
Weaknesses
● Not an explosive play creator on tape (didn’t have a play of more than 20 yards on 184 offensive touches in 2025)
● Run patience borders on indecisiveness at times
● Dump-off target in screen game but needs to cut down on drops (five in 2025)
● Ball security must improve (five fumbles over past two seasons)
● Missed one game as super senior because of a shoulder injury (Oct. 2025)
● Character background is vital — arrested in April 2021 on multiple charges, dismissed from Oklahoma’s program and later pleaded
guilty to larceny of a person at nighttime; sentenced to one year of probation after spending three months in jail.
Projection
A one-year starter at Kentucky, McGowan was productive in former offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan’s scheme (Hamdan is now
quarterbacks coach for the Miami Dolphins). A well-traveled prospect, McGowan played for five different programs over the past six
years. He quickly moved up the depth chart after joining the Wildcats in spring 2025, and he finished 2025 as one of just four SEC
players with 12-plus touchdowns.
McGowan runs with flexible hips and quick eyes for sharp-cutting moves to maneuver around roadblocks. Thanks to his ability to read
blocks, he runs with steady tempo between the tackles and in the open field, but he’s missing tackle-breaking balance and a pull-away
gear to get past the second level (ranked 207th in the FBS with just 13 runs of 10-plus yards). Overall, McGowan is a good-sized,
coordinated athlete with adequate vision and run strength, although his lack of explosive traits and inconsistent
third-down value will make it an uphill climb to prove his worth on an NFL roster.
