Scouting Dossier

Strengths
● Mid-cut athlete with packed-on, evenly distributed weight
● Looks comfortable adjusting to throws with control
● Tracks and spears the football outside his frame
● Coordinated on pivot and one-cut routes, easily transferring his momentum
● Nice use of tempo on delayed/hesitation patterns to fool coverage (see TD on 2025 Oklahoma tape)
● Competitive finisher as a blocker and ball carrier
● Experienced aligning as a fullback and lead blocker
● Good mobility as a blocker to aggressively pick off open-field defenders
● NFL scout: “Great locker room fit. … He loves his teammates, and his teammates love him. … (He’s a) willing soldier.”
● Didn’t play on special teams in 2025 but has four-phase experience from Washington
Weaknesses
● Lacks desired size and length for some tight end duties
● Doesn’t explode through his hips as a blocker — won’t move edge defenders in run game
● Shorter extension opens opportunities for linebackers to disengage
● Needs to show better control in space to execute screen blocks
● Catch radius is average
● Needs to know when he is hot, so he can get his head turned and help his quarterback
● Looks to get upfield too quickly after the catch, occasionally leading to drops
● Some routes lack detail, especially when he widens release to avoid contact
● Missed three games as a senior because of right foot injury (Nov. 2025)
Projection
A one-year starter at Alabama, Cuevas was a versatile tight end (54.4 percent of snaps inline) in offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb’s
RPO-based downfield attack. After going the FCS route out of high school, he landed at Washington and later followed Kalen DeBoer’s
coaching staff to Tuscaloosa. He made the most of becoming TE1 on the Tide roster in 2025 and graded well as both a blocker and
receiver.

Although he doesn’t wow from a size perspective, Cuevas carries his weight well and has the route quickness to give his quarterback a
functional target. He has a feel for working in zones and is steady as a pass catcher. He has some limitations as a blocker but brings
toughness and physicality to every rep. Overall, Cuevas doesn’t offer the upside of an impact NFL starter, but he is a
well-rounded player and commits to whatever is asked of him, which could have value in the right situation. He
projects as an F tight end or fullback.
