Scouting Dossier

PFF
Strengths
● Long, stretched-out frame, with above-average arm length ● Decent get-off; long strides to win the corner and force QB to move his feet ● Uses inside/outside jab steps to help create rush paths ● Fast hands to chop, swat and discard blocks and soften edges ● Slithery upper half helps him detach once engaged ● Consistent motor to chase backside in run game ● Work ethic and training ingrained in him by his father growing up ● Could probably run for Durham mayor one day, given how much he pours into the community (NFL scout: “He has some magnetism. Easy-going personality.”) ● Started 41 games over past four seasons (also played on punt coverage in 2025)
Weaknesses
● Below-average bulk, with marginal definition in quads and lower body ● Mediocre play strength — meets immediate resistance with speed-to-power attempts ● Narrow base and moves stiff through his hips and core ● Average lateral quickness — struggles crossing faces of blockers ● Frequently mistimes snap and jumps offside (flagged seven times in 2025; several others should have been called) ● Can be moved from his spot in run game ● Missed tackles seemed to pile up on 2025 tape ● Stayed healthy but did have surgery to fix a torn labrum after 2022 season
Projection
A four-year starter at Duke, Anthony played the “Vyper” edge rusher role in defensive coordinator Jonathan Patke’s four-man front. He surprised the previous coaching staff by flying up the depth chart as a true freshman, and his production increased each year (finished No. 7 in school history with 15 career sacks). He led the Blue Devils in sacks and tackles for loss as a senior and was a part of the program’s first ACC Championship since 1962. Anthony has a long, slender frame, with the rush juice and quick hands to work through the edges of blockers. Though he looks to get a jump off the snap, he is a serial offside offender, and hip tightness limits his backup options once engaged. He is a competitive player and has the wingspan to corral ball carriers as a tackler, but his run defense was inconsistent at best in 2025, and he struggled to finish tackles in space. Overall, Anthony is an average-twitch athlete who will need to learn how to combat NFL power, but he plays long with a rush arsenal that continues to ascend. He projects as a designated pass rusher at the next level, with a best-case outcome of an Arden Key-type career. 383 Back to table of contents -- 387 of 629 --
