PFF
Strengths
● Tall athlete, with long legs and mediocre arm length
● Balanced trigger to plant and drive from off coverage
● Alert in transitions to comfortably overlap zones
● Effective quickness when reacting to route breaks
● Has a feel for getting his hands into catch-point windows
● Flashes physicality in press and on the perimeter
● Toughness as a tackler to get his man to the ground
● Mature, down-to-earth teammate — voted a team captain in 2025
● School sources say he “loves the grind” and “leads with his voice and example”
● Used as a nickel in 2024
Weaknesses
● Wiry limbs; lacks ideal mass in his lowers
● Recovery speed is closer to average than above average
● Hips are a little sticky, with sudden transitions
● Prone to grabbing once he loses leverage
● Play action and double moves can get him unsettled
● More likely to play the receiver than turn and find the football
● Missed three games in 2025 because of injuries
Projection
A three-year starter at Stanford, Wright was an outside cornerback in former defensive coordinator Bobby April’s zone-focused scheme.
He was part of the same recruiting class as David Bailey and Elic Ayomanor and became a starter as a redshirt freshman. He led the
team in interceptions and passes defended in 2024, and he took another jump on tape in 2025.
Wright, who models his game after Byron Murphy, is a good-sized athlete with the foot quickness to mirror in man and alert
movements from zone. He is aggressive in his reactions, which can lead to missteps, but he plays through hands at the catch point and
likes to mix it up in run support. He was a captain at Stanford, and the intangible factor leans in his favor. Overall, Wright is a
smooth operator in coverage and has aggressive eyes, promising ball skills and toughness in all phases. His
inside-outside versatility will help him find a home.
