Scouting Dossier

PFF
Strengths
● Even-cut, with athletic muscle distributed throughout ● Natural ball-catching instincts show in how he frames and uses his body (high catch rate when targeted) ● Catches through contact surprisingly well ● Quick off the line and into open zones ● Uses tempo and balance to turn defenders and separate at stem ● Every route looks the same, which allows him to loosen coverage ● Teammates and coaches talk about his intelligence at the position ● Reads pursuit angles and works against them to make first man miss ● Lives in the film room, according to NFL scouts, and works at his craft 136 Back to table of contents -- 140 of 629 --
Weaknesses
● Lacks ideal height and length for the position ● Only able to expand catch radius so much because of his limited measurables ● Occasional focus drop usually comes from trapping the football ● Mediocre suddenness in release package vs. early jams ● Doesn’t have explosive top gear to easily stack coverage ● Just six of 88 catches in 2025 came on targets of 20-plus air yards ● Mediocre run-after-catch production ● Competitive as a blocker but average size and strength might limit him ● Limited return experience
Projection
A three-year starter at Boston College, Bond aligned mostly in the slot (62.6 percent of snaps in 2025) in head coach Bill O’Brien’s pro-style, balanced offense. One of Bond’s closest friends, Zay Flowers, led BC in receiving for three consecutive seasons (2020-22); Bond did the same (2023-25). He took it a step further, too, and passed Flowers’ school record for career catches (213). Bond also finished his BC career ranked fifth in receiving yards (2,385). Bond won’t wow anyone with his size/speed traits, but he more than makes up for it with his receiving savvy. He drives off the line with precision in his steps to construct routes that lead to separation. His instincts allow him to find blind spots and work back to the ball. He has some make-you-miss juice, but average speed caps his yards-after-catch ceiling. Overall, Bond is more quick than explosive, but he has NFL-quality short-area route skills and ball skills. His skill set projects best as an underneath slot receiver, which won’t be a fit for every team.
