Scouting Dossier

PFF
Strengths
● Broad-framed blocker, with thick muscle on arms and thighs ● Adequate setup quickness; controlled lateral slides in pass pro ● Shows improved awareness and flexibility reacting to twists or blitzes ● Good movement ability in run game when his feet and hips stay connected ● Extends long arms and coiled power to create knockback on the move ● Uses high levels of aggression to get the job done ● Outstanding physical toughness — routinely plays through injuries ● Favorable feedback from staff about his work ethic and energy behind the scenes
Weaknesses
● Upright and can be exposed by rushers on an island ● Inconsistent leverage — base starts to break down earlier than you’d like ● Mistimed punch allows rusher to work across his face and win inside rush lane ● Overextends himself and drops eyes in run game, leading to whiffs ● Looks to pop defenders but often at expense of his balance ● Medicals will be crucial: knee injury in high school, which he continued rehabbing after enrolling at Washington State; second major knee injury, which he played through in 2023 before missing 2024 spring practices and first three games of ‘24 season ● Only played right tackle in college — unproven position flexibility
Projection
A one-year starter at Wake Forest (and a starter for three-and-a-half years overall), Fa’amoe lined up at right tackle in offensive coordinator Rob Ezell’s zone/gap scheme. After enrolling at Washington State as a 200-pound defensive end, he added more than 100 pounds and made the switch to the offensive line. Injuries disrupted his development over the years, but he showed steady improvements each season. Fa’amoe is a toolsy prospect with an intriguing mix of bend, length and toughness. As a run blocker, he shines on pin-pull concepts and calls which allow him to be a bouncer looking to throw defenders out of the club. He has the size to cover up rushers in pass pro, although he would benefit from improved control in both phases. Playing through injuries has become second nature to him, but his medicals are a concern. Overall, Fa’amoe stands out with his frame and physicality, although he tends to be overly reliant on those qualities and requires fine-tuning in other areas to survive in the NFL. A move to guard might be in his best interest long-term. 247 Back to table of contents -- 251 of 629 --
