Scouting Dossier

PFF
Strengths
● Enough top-end speed to keep defenses honest ● Moves well laterally to quickly get in and out of cuts (LeSean McCoy was his favorite player growing up) ● Accelerates well to scoot through holes and keep pursuit from closing ● Can rip off chunk plays (one of just 10 FBS running backs last season with at least 13 carries of 20-plus yards) ● Rides the wave on stretch zone before getting north ● Not a power back but has adequate run strength to take shots and finish hard ● Squares up in pass pro and gives effort ● Strong character feedback (NFL scout: “Self-starter, accountable … easy ‘yes’ from me.”)
Weaknesses
● Undersized body type and needs to keep his weight above 200 pounds ● One-speed runner with inconsistent pacing based on block development ● Average wiggle and lacks suddenness to make defenders miss in a phone booth ● Capable on screens but inconsistent beyond that ● Put some good pass-pro reps on tape, but it felt like a dam about to break ● Ball security needs to be better (averaged a fumble every 77.7 touches at UTSA) ● Worn-down tread on tires and has taken a beating over his career ● Missed two games in 2024 because of an ankle injury; missed two games (and parts of others) in 2025
Projection
A two-year starter at UTSA, Henry was productive in former offensive coordinator Justin Burke’s balanced scheme. His production increased with his usage, including a memorable performance with 11.1 yards per carry (16 attempts for 177 yards and two TDs) in the 2025 season opener against Texas A&M. He finished his career No. 3 all-time in Roadrunners’ history in both rushing yards (2,339) and rushing touchdowns (27). Henry might not have ideal size or speed, but he is well-rounded with his run instincts, quickness and willingness to finish. He shows balance to break through arm tackles and flashes a playmaking gear — he had an FBS-best six plays of 70-plus yards in 2025 (five carries, one catch). Between high school, junior college and UTSA, he combined for 1,618 offensive touches, which speaks both to his reliability and the high mileage on the odometer. Overall, Henry lacks a true distinguishing trait, but he is a productive, one-cut runner with functional quickness, vision and toughness. Although he isn’t the same level of athlete, his tape is reminiscent of Elijah Mitchell’s when he was coming out of Louisiana. 70 Back to table of contents -- 74 of 629 --
