Scouting Dossier

PFF
Strengths
● Makes quick reads and accelerates through holes ● Patient at the line of scrimmage to find a sliver of daylight (models game after Le’Veon Bell) ● Coordinated footwork with short-area burst to evade tackle attempts ● Won’t go down on first contact and keeps his feet underneath him ● Glides off tackle with manipulative strides to follow his blocking ● Has some creativity in the way he runs and trusts athletic instincts ● Catches the ball cleanly away from his frame; would like to see him move around the formation more ● NFL scouts say he adapted quickly to what was asked of him at South Carolina
Weaknesses
● Weight fluctuated between 205 and 225 pounds in college ● Runs hard, but he’s not a power back who will move piles ● Found the end zone in just two of 12 games in 2025 ● Limited on tape to being checkdown option as a pass catcher ● Needs technical and processing development in pass protection ● Inconsistent on contact and doesn’t seek out blitzers ● Below-average rushing output in 2025 (averaged fewer than five yards per carry) ● Doesn’t have a special teams resume ● Older player — will be 26 on draft weekend
Projection
A one-year starter at South Carolina (and two-year college starter overall), Faison was an underutilized back in former offensive coordinator Mike Shula’s scheme. After a winding journey that included two years of junior college and two years at Utah State, Faison patiently waited to find out if he would be eligible for the 2025 season. He won his case and became the Gamecocks’ lead back, although the offense didn’t lean on him much — he didn’t surpass 75 yards rushing in any of his 12 games. Faison is a better player than his 2025 production and usage (9.6 offensive touches per game) would indicate. He has quick, abrupt footwork with minimal lag between seeing it and hitting it. His inside patience and vision are workable traits to maximize carries. He is a functional pass catcher but put some bad blocking reps on film. Overall, Faison has the smooth accelerator to stick his foot in the ground and go, with the contact balance to spring off tackle attempts. His age and pass pro are problematic, but he has NFL talent as a ball carrier. 67 Back to table of contents -- 71 of 629 --
