Scouting Dossier
PFF
Strengths
● Good-sized athlete, with adequate bulk and length
● Explosive as a blocker, getting out of his stance and into contact with steady posture
● Delivers pop and generates power from his hips and lower body
● Appears comfortable with both gap and zone (inside/outside) blocking duties
● Has some nasty to him as a block finisher
● Fluid strider for a big man — looks even faster than timed speed
● Natural coordination as a pass catcher to track in stride
● Competed in every drill at NFL combine (one of just six prospects to do so)
● High touchdown rate (seven of 37 catches went for scores)
Weaknesses
● Underutilized pass catcher (never reached 50 receiving yards in a game)
● Inefficient sifting through press coverage and finding route track
● Small sample size as downfield seam target (didn’t see a target over 20 yards in 2025)
● Not enough on tape to feel comfortable classifying him as a “jump-ball winner”
● Has some speed post-catch but not much of a tackle breaker
● Needs to stay patient with his weight centered to face off versus powerful ends
Projection
A one-and-a-half-year starter at Penn State, Dinkins was a Y tight end (61.5 percent of snaps inline) in former offensive coordinator
Andy Kotelnicki’s gap scheme. Like his NFL father, he went from being a do-it-all high school player to a traditional tight end in college.
The receiving production doesn’t grab you, but his blocking was an asset for the Nittany Lions’ offense.
As a blocker, Dinkins explodes through his hips and legs to create pop into contact. He shows strength in his hands to strain and finish,
although he needs to stay balanced, especially when he is outsized on the edge. His pass-catching tape is underwhelming, because of the
marginal body of work, but he executes on delays to find open zones and adjusts well to the ball outside his frame. Overall, Dinkins
has the athletic traits and flashes to earn the “promising” label as both a pass catcher and blocker — his best football
should be ahead of him. He can find NFL success if he lands with a team willing to cultivate his talent.

Freak Notes
- Feldman-Freaks-2025 · #71The Nittany Lions have had a remarkable run of standout athletes at tight end. Dinkins, the son of former NFL tight end Darnell Dinkins, started six games last season, catching 14 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Penn State offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki proved last year he’s very creative in finding ways to get his best athletes the ball, and Dinkins is one of the Freakiest athletes in the country. At 6-4, 255 pounds, Dinkins ran a 4.50 40 (a school record for Penn State tight ends) and hit 21.8 mph. He broad jumped 10-0, clocked 4.30 in the shuttle, bench pressed 405 pounds, power cleaned 355 and squatted 550.
