Scouting Dossier
Projection
Aaron Hall grew up in Durham, N.C., with his parents (Anthony and Tishna Hall). His father played on the defensive line at Utah
(1990-92). Aaron attended Southern School of Energy and Sustainability, where he played basketball and football. After posting 12
sacks as a sophomore, he collected 32 sacks as an all-conference junior (his senior season in 2020 was cancelled because of the
COVID-19 pandemic).
A three-star recruit, he received offers from Arizona State, Virginia Tech and several other schools before deciding to stay home and
enroll at Duke. He added more than 50 pounds once in the program and became a starter over his junior and senior seasons.
A tall-framed athlete, Hall is quick off the ball to live in gaps and be disruptive in the run game. He can work up and down the line and
burst to close when chasing wide pursuit. He tends to get stuck on contact and needs to mature his block recognition and
point-of-attack technique. His hands are active as a pass rusher to swipe and work through the shoulders of blockers. He was a two-time
team captain and has shown he can connect with everyone in the locker room. Overall, Hall needs to play with more consistent
pad level and hand usage, but his slashing quickness and effort can disrupt backfield action.
