Projection
Cashion “Cash” Jones grew up in Brock, Texas, with his parents (Wayne and Leigh Anne; Cashion is also his mother’s maiden name).
Jones is vice president of his family’s trucking and cement company (“Cash Jones Ready Mix”). He followed in the footsteps of his older
brother (Tripp) and grew up playing multiple sports — he credits his brother for developing his toughness. He attended Brock High
School and became the first athlete in school history to letter in four sports (baseball, basketball, football and track). Jones earned
all-state honors as a senior and set a school record for all-time rushing yards (he also was part of a track state title in the 4x200 relay).
A three-star recruit, he received a handful of FBS offers and committed to New Mexico State. However, he changed his mind and opted
for a preferred walk-on opportunity at Georgia (he received NIL benefits over his college career, instead of being put on scholarship).
Jones was a rotational running back who made an impact on passing downs and special teams. He catches the ball with confident, firm
hands (zero drops in 2025) and immediately gets north-south. He can shake linebackers in space and has speed to finish. He has
questionable vision and run strength, however, to be a between-the-tackles runner in the NFL. He made a noticeable jump in pass
protection in 2025, compared to his underclassman tape. He played on all kick and punt coverages, and his effort consistently jumped
out (recovered game-clinching onside kick versus Texas). Overall, Jones isn’t a well-rounded offensive player, but his
pass-catching skills and the makeup to be a core-four special teamer will earn him legitimate looks at the back end of
an NFL roster.
