Scouting Dossier
Projection
Larry Worth III grew up in Jacksonville, Fla., with his parents. He started playing football at age 5 and made reaching the NFL his
lifelong goal. He attended Baldwin Middle-Senior High School, where he played mostly wide receiver, posting 25 catches for 351 yards
and three touchdowns as a junior. He was hoping a productive senior year would earn him a scholarship, but a knee injury cut his 2021
season short.
A no-star recruit, he was determined to keep his football dreams alive and garnered a walk-on opportunity at Jacksonville State thanks
to his high school coach (he went from Jacksonville, Fla., to Jacksonville, Ala.). He impressed in his first year in the program and was
put on scholarship by former head coach Rich Rodriguez during spring practices in 2023 (Worth: “It was the best day of my life.”). After
the 2023 season, he entered the portal and transferred to Arkansas. He initially played linebacker before moving to nickel and safety.
After arriving in the SEC, Worth was one of the most consistent tacklers in college football. He is a tall, long athlete with some tightness,
but he has decent speed once he strides out and gets going. His short-area burst and redirect skills are mediocre, which limit his ability
to make plays on the football in coverage. But he sees the field well to anticipate and consistently be in the neighborhood. Overall,
Worth is a former walk-on (and hasn’t lost that mentality) with the straight-line explosion to fly down the field,
which shows on defense, but even more so on special teams.
